Fuji Fashion shoot at Calshot Beach with Mike Browne & Stephie Rebello.
To kick off with – a massive thank you to Mike Browne for hooking up and letting us come down to make these videos. Thank you to both Stephanie’s for helping drive us about and modelling for the video too, in-fact Stephanie ended up doing a whole video for Mike too about modelling and tips for photographers working with models – check that video out here.
The last time Stephie and I went down to Southampton we went to see our good friend Mike Browne. We both have been big fans of his Youtube videos and we were both super excited to be able to spend the day filming with Mike. Mike shoots Fuji too, so that is an added bonus!
Everything started a few months ago when Stephie’s mum took us to Calshot beach, she we took some shots and mentioned that they had been in a teaching video by Mike. I remembered watching the video and it prompted me to send Mike an e-mail that very moment. After some quick ‘facebooking’ backwards and forwards we had a shoot planned and a few weeks later we ended up on the same beach at 4:30 in the morning to catch the stunning morning light.
All shot with the Fuji X-T1 with the XF 16-55mm except from the close up monochrome head shots which where shot on the X-pro using the XF 56mm APD. Lighting was all natural but a Cactus & Round flash was used to help fill in details as the sun was very low and super bright leaving with some strong shadows.
Everything was edited using Photoshop & Lightroom.
All styling was by myself – mostly from ASOS.
Due to the amount of fun we had – we ended up shooting quiet a bit – so – Mike made a three part video.
Below are the edited images from the day – They came out far better in colour than I had expected – so , since I was shooting in Raw – it was no problem to edit them how ever I wished. I even loved the yellow light so much that I made a yellow & black Duotone image to really pop. Might be one to get printed up for the living room I think !
