The 5th Anniversary Fujifilm Book.
So.. today I woke up to the sound of the door bell. It was on of those moment when you know your not expecting anyone or anything to arrive via the post.
As I signed for the package, I noted that very lovely postage mark from Fujifilm that I have come be so fond of on parcels. I was not expecting anything new so it was a total delight to see an image of Rachel Bowler had made it into the ‘Getting back to Photography’ book. It is always very nice to be involved with projects of such a nature but, with the Fujifilm projects there seems to be a extra feeling of accomplishment. I am feeling very proud today.
Oh.. I should point out – I just took these photos really quick – but the prints are just amazing. So much tone & micro contrast – the details are amazing. Below is the image used. It was photographed as part of my towel series.
If you want to check out all the images in the series, you can do on this link ideasandimages.co.uk/gallery/towels/ If you want to check out my other Fuji related stuff – check this link : http://blog.davekaipiper.com/fuji/.
Getting back to the book – Printed so well and with a stunning ivory cover with white embossed lettering – this book is going to be something I treasure for a long long time. Another wonderful little treat is that over the page from my image, Paul Saunders has a stunning image too. In fact – the book is packed full of amazing images from Photographers all over the world, but the most wonderful thing about this book are the images and words from the team who built the X-Pro2.
The first few pages showcase David Alan Harvey (Magnum Photo Agency + check out this video). Then the book goes into a collection of photographers all around the world from the likes of David Hobby etc.
I will be sure to have my book with me at the Photography Show if anyone wants to have a look in person & I am very sure there will be some on the Fujifilm stand. I am not sure if they are for sale or just for archival purposes.
